I had also told you earlier, about this indian site - Flipcart. ( buying in Rs )
Just like e-bay and Amazon,
in
And to buy any small and big things they are very reliable for on-line purchase and you need to open an account with them ( like e-mail ) and get used to and familiar with those. They can have from small to big any items,.. and you can set the parameters to find where the lowest is sold,
Also understand their shipping charge sand paying methods and you cal also call toll free and ask anything, also can write to them for any questions.
Get used to with these sites, they are helpful
For example, in search box type " Norton antivirus" and when page opened , in upper right box, set the parameter as " lowest first" and you can search any items,.. call them toll free and ask all other questions.
Exmple:
http://www.flipkart.com/search-software?query=anti+virus&firstTimeSort=true&layout=&sort=price_asc
( use the search box to find any item and set parameter in box as lowest fiirst )
n Public opinions:
FlipKart is excellent which is like Amazon for India. The founder is from IIT who previously worked in Amazon, R2I and started FlipKart with good intention even though he just copied everything including the business concept and the website layout :-) but fine tuned to Indian system where we can pay in cash directly after the product is delivered at home. I bought books where they delivered and I just paid cash to the delivery person which in fact is better as we can avoid credit card fraud!!
The CD player at my parents' house in India had died. I ordered one at Flipkart and paid using my ICICI account (you can't use a US credit card in their website). It was promptly delivered in 3 days. Flipkart is like Amazon (not in size though), their customer service is good and has good return policies as well. I found that one can even order things like Air-Conditioners, that they will deliver it and make sure the manufacturer installs it. So sitting in US, one can research and find a good product and get that delivered to someone in India. Hassle free shopping.
