Dear friends,

Our heartfelt appeal to come forward to help legendary Ghazal singer of 20th Century Janaab Mehdi Hasaan who is unable to pay his medical bills towards the treatment he is taking at Aga Khan University Hospital, Karanchi, Pakistan has received mixed response.

The movement initiated by layastaro.com, tahuko.com & urmisaagar.com on behalf of Gujarati Blogging world is still on & you may still contribute for the noble cause... The maestro has imparted divine colours to many of our evenings with his mesmerizing voice & now is the time for us to add few colours to the very evening of his life.

Till now we have been able to collect a fund of nearly Rs. 78500/= and you can still contribute with any amount your heart asks for... Apart from your money, your wishes are also welcome...

We have received few mails expressing their due concern about sending money to Pakistan & to help a muslim. And I have few words to say in this regard:

I have never thought that I am a Hindu and someone else is a Muslim or a Christian or a Sikkh. I love India & I DO NOT love Pakistan but when it comes to any form of art, I strogly believe that सूर की कोई सीमा नहीं.... Any form of art can never belong to any lines drawn by humans....
Pakistani Ghazal lovers may help this maestro on their own. They may not do so. The question is not whether they are helping their own man or not but the basic question is there is a finer difference between a pakistani & a hindustani & in no circumstances this difference should be erased off. A Pakistani will never help an Indian but an Indian will never step back doing so if the cause is genuine. This is my culture & this is my heritage....
We have yet not collected any money from anybody and we are working hard to ensure the safety of the money we may get at the end of everything & the safest way to ensure its proper delivery to the proper person through our channels. We will enact on the appeal only after 100% fullproofness of the money exchange is guranteed...
There may be many artists who might need our help & we have & will never deny to do so whenever we will come across to the same issue. We are not social workers yet the news of Mehdi Hassan has emotionally appealed us & we are motivated. We will always listen to our heart....
We are talking with Divya Bhaskar group to help us collect the money & to get us the permission from RBI to send the same amount to Pakistan & I hope that will ensure the delivery.

I hope I have made my stand clear....At the end I would like to say one thing, "Never Doubt that a group of thoughtful, committed people can transform the world - indeed it is the only thing that ever did!"
